Privacy Policy

SwitchReel is operated by Sovereign Firm. This page explains what we collect, which services see your videos and photos, how long things are kept, and how to have them deleted.
What happens in your browser
Choosing your moment, sampling frames and cutting the clip happen on your device. The full video you add is never uploaded to us: only the short clip you choose, six still frames from it, and the photos you add leave your browser, and only for the steps below. Your draft (the video, the moment and your choices) lives in your browser’s memory until you generate it or close the tab.
Who sees your clip and photos
- Google (Gemini API): to find the people and characters in your moment, six still frames from it are sent to Google’s Gemini API. Your frames and reference photos are also sent there for automated safety screening before a video is made.
- WaveSpeed: to make the video, the prepared clip and your reference photos are uploaded to WaveSpeed, which runs the AI video model. WaveSpeed keeps uploaded files for about 7 days.
- FxEmbed: if you paste an X (Twitter) link, the link is sent to FxEmbed to find the video file. For other links, our server fetches the video from the address you gave.
- Stripe: payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach SwitchReel. Stripe’s privacy policy applies to what Stripe processes.
- Cloudflare hosts the site, our server functions and our storage. Maileroo delivers sign-in codes and support emails.
We don’t sell personal information, we don’t use advertising trackers, and we don’t use your videos or photos to train AI models.
What we store
- Account: your email address, a signed cookie that keeps you signed in, and a random cookie that ties the steps you take before signing in to your browser.
- Credits: a ledger of your purchases, the credits each video used, and any refunds, with the Stripe identifiers needed to match them to payments.
- Video jobs: a record of each video you generate: its status, length, timing and any error.
- Your videos: the videos SwitchReel makes for you are kept in our storage so you can come back and download them again. We delete them when you ask.
- Abuse prevention: rate limits use a one-way hash of your IP address, kept for about two days. We don’t store your IP address itself.
Analytics
We count a small set of anonymous product events, such as “page viewed”, “moment picked”, “checkout started” and “video finished”, tied to a random identifier in your browser. They go to our own server first, which drops your IP address before passing them to our self-hosted analytics (PostHog, run on our own server). Events never include your video, frames, photos or file names. There are no third-party trackers on SwitchReel.
How long we keep things
We keep your account, credit ledger and job records while you use SwitchReel and as long as needed afterwards for accounting, tax and dispute purposes. Generated videos stay in our storage until you ask us to delete them. Copies held by WaveSpeed expire after about 7 days.
Deleting your data and your rights
Email [email protected] from the address you use with SwitchReel to delete your videos, your account, or both, or to see or correct what we hold about you. We may need to keep payment records the law requires. Depending on where you live (for example in California or the European Union) you may have additional rights, and we will honor them.
Adults only
SwitchReel is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you believe a child has used SwitchReel or appears in a SwitchReel video, write to us and we will remove it.
Changes
We will update this page when what we collect or who processes it changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
