Terms of Service
Last updated 17 October 2026.
These terms apply when you use SwitchReel at switchreel.com (“SwitchReel”, “we”, “us”). By using it you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use SwitchReel.
1. What SwitchReel is
SwitchReel makes character-swap videos. You choose a short moment (3 to 30 seconds) from a video, pick who in it to replace, and add photos of who should play them. An AI video model then makes a new video in which your replacements perform the same moves. SwitchReel is operated by Sovereign Firm.
2. Who can use it
- You must be 18 or older to use SwitchReel.
- To buy credits you sign in with your email address. A 6-digit sign-in code is sent to it. Keep access to that inbox secure: whoever can read it can use your credits.
3. What you may and may not make
You may only upload videos and photos you own or have permission to use. Do not use SwitchReel to make or attempt to make:
- Sexual, nude or sexually suggestive content of anyone.
- Videos with a minor (anyone under 18) as a replacement, or that put a child into a video in any way.
- Videos of well-known public figures, such as politicians, celebrities, athletes or influencers.
- Videos of any real person who has not agreed to it. You need the consent of every real person whose face or likeness you use.
- Anything meant to deceive people about real events, to impersonate someone, to defraud, or to harass, bully, threaten or humiliate anyone.
- Content that is illegal, hateful or violent, or that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights.
Requests are screened automatically before a video is made, and the video model applies its own content rules. A request may be blocked without explanation. A blocked request costs nothing: any credits reserved for it are returned. We may suspend accounts that break these rules or try to get around the screening, and we may remove videos that break them.
You also agree not to get around credits, limits or payment, scrape or overload the service, or use automated tools to access it without our permission.
4. AI-generated videos and sharing them
- Every video SwitchReel makes is AI-generated. It can look real. Results vary, and the model can get faces, hands, motion or details wrong.
- You are responsible for what you make and how you share it. If you share a video, don’t present it as real footage, and label it as AI-generated wherever a platform or the law asks you to.
- Respect the rights of whoever made the original video, and of the people in it.
- You keep whatever rights you have in the videos and photos you upload. We claim no ownership of them or of the videos you make. You give us permission to process them only as needed to run SwitchReel for you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Credits and payment
- 1 credit makes 1 second of video. Credits are a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and they never expire.
- Credits are spent only when you tap Generate. They are reserved at that moment for the length of your clip.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay; if your card is charged in another currency, the amount shown at checkout is what you pay.
- While SwitchReel shares a payment account with our sister product EditThisPic, checkout may show the EditThisPic name and your statement may read “ETP* SWITCHREEL”.
6. Refunds
- Automatic: if a video fails, is blocked by screening, or never starts (for example the upload doesn’t finish, or it waits in the queue for more than 30 minutes), the credits reserved for it come back to your balance automatically.
- A finished video uses its credits even if you don’t like the result. If something clearly went wrong, write to us and we’ll look at it.
- To ask for a refund of a credit purchase, email [email protected] within 14 days of buying. We handle refund requests case by case. Double charges, and charges where the credits never arrived, are always refunded.
7. Reporting a video and takedowns
If you believe a SwitchReel video shows you or your child without consent, impersonates you, or infringes your copyright or other rights, email [email protected] with a link to the video or a description of it and how to reach you. We review reports promptly and remove videos that break these terms. For a copyright (DMCA) notice, include the work you own, where the infringing material is, your contact details, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorized and that your notice is accurate.
8. Availability and changes
We try to keep SwitchReel running, but we don’t guarantee it will always be available or that every request will succeed. Videos may wait in a queue when the video model is busy. We may change, pause or discontinue features. If we shut SwitchReel down, we will refund unspent purchased credits.
9. Liability
SwitchReel is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of it, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. You are responsible for the content you upload and the videos you make and share, and you agree to cover our costs if a claim against us results from your breaking these terms.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use SwitchReel after a change means you accept it. We will announce significant changes on the site or by email.
